I am so sorry to hear that. The msg you wrote contains too little info. Can you please explain, what is the treatment (conventional and alternative) and tumour history, status today and next steps as suggested by the oncologist?

My mother is after colon resection (Stage III) from 3 months ago - seems to be very professionally done - great recovery and doing adjuvant chemo (Xeloda - 50% doses - some liver issues from the past). She is about to start the 3rd cycle - some "minor" side effects (headache, nausea, rash). 6 standard cycles recommended but 3 has more or less the same results according to studies. So we may want to shorten it. Not very keen on chemo.

CT scans didn´t find anything else and CEA has been taken twice since surgery (both times 0.4).

She is taking METABLOC (1g alpha lipoic acid/ day + 2g HCA/day), takes curcumin 2g/day with bioboosters like piperin and quercetin, vitamin C (in grams), D3 6000IU+/day, minerals (zinc, iron, magnesium, selenium...), CoQ10 300mg/day, L Carnitine up to 3g/day, silymarin 400mg/day and also reishi, shiitake and cordyceps and aswagandha 900mg/day and melatonin 9mg/day.

When having no chemo week she takes B17 900mg/day and resveratrol - 900mg/day instead of curcumin and also started 2-3g/day of DHA/EPA.

She also does Budwig 2*day. Otherwise drinking green tea, chamomile tea (for apigenin), dandelion and 0.5 litre fresh juice/day (carrots, celery, ginger, sometimes beetroot) and eating mostly vegan/vegetarian, but some fish and poultry (limited), definitely no sugar, red meat, cheese and little fruit - occasional apple or only more avocados. Also citric acid from lemons 3-10g/day.

Planning detox after chemo and then high dose vit. C IV and going on with diet, juicing, Metabloc, berberine, DHA/EPA and changing between curcumin, resveratrol and occasional higher doses of EGCG, with a few days of keto (to pulse glutamin).

Any suggestions?

From today´s blood tests all in norm except:

GMT - 1.43

CEA 0.8 - should we be worried that it increased from 0.4 or just fluctuation in measurement?

CRP 1

Dear Zdenek,

Your mom situation and the strategy you put in place sounds very good. I only have one comment: you may want to stop alpha lipoic acid as long as your mom is on chemo, at least during and several days after chemo.

You may also want to look at the webpage of Chis  https://www.chrisbeatcancer.com who successfully managed to keep cancer away after having to deal with a surgery for colon cancer stage III.

Regarding options to add to minimize chance of recurrence, please read

- and this one  https://www.cancertreatmentsresearch.com/community/forum-to-discuss-treatment-protocols-and-drugsupplement-cocktail/reducing-supplement-protocol-berberine-metatrol-alamax/#post-828

I hope this helps.

Kind regards,
Daniel
