Hi,

I'm writing here to inquire if there are any alternate medication available for my sister (35 year) who was diagnosed with locally advanced signet ring adenocarcinoma of the stomach involving the GE Junction. Here treatment time is as follows.

35 Years/ Female

22nd May 2017
Upper GI Endoscopy shows a large ulcerated growth with luminal stenosis is
starting 1.5cm above GE Junction and extending into midbody of stomach
involving predominantly lesser curve
Diagnosis - Locally advanced signet ring Adenocarcinoma of the stomach
with GE Junction Involvement (EGFR Negative, Her 2 Negative, PD L1 +)

May-17
PET CT # 1
Malignant neoplastic lesion of the proximal stomach extending up to the GE
junction with peri gastric - gastrohepatic fat stranding, indentation over the
pancreas and extensive metastatic upper abdominal lymphadenopathy

30th May 2017 -
22 August 2017
Chemotherapy - Line # 1
Modified FOLFOX6 q15d x 6 Cycles

Sep-17
Reassessment PET CT # 2
Very good partial response

October 2017
2nd Opinion
MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, Texas

Upper GI Endoscopy
A 1 cm smooth mass with no bleeding was found in the distal oesophagus, 35
cm from the incisors.
A mass was present with extension into the cardia. A large, infiltrative and
ulcerated, partially circumferential (involving one-half of the lumen
circumference) mass with no bleeding and stigmata of recent bleeding was
found at the gastroesophageal junction at 37 cm with extension into the cardia
to 44 cm and to the fundus.

Diagnostic Laparoscopy
Peritoneal washings with negative cytology. 1-2mm lesion noted in LUQ,
biopsy taken and was negative for cancer

Advised to continue FOLFOX 6 q15d in addition add Keytruda

November to
December 2017
Chemotherapy
FOLFOX 6 q15d 2 cycles + 1 dose of Keytruda

Dec-17
Reassessment PET CT # 3
Progressive disease.

6th December 2017
Seeing progression of cancer on FOLFOX (as seen on PET CT # 3, the
following therapy was started:
Weekly Paclitaxel + Ramucirumab q15d + Keytruda (3 weeks)

7th December 2017 -
22nd January 2018
Chemotherapy Line # 2
Weekly Paclitaxel + Ramucirumab q15d + Keytruda (3 weeks)

29th January 2018
PET CT (4)
Interval increase in previously described proximal gastric mass involving the
fundus and lesser curvature with persistent hypermetabolic peri gastric,
gastrosplenic and gastrohepatic lymph nodes with interval increase in
metabolic activity and interval increase in previously described
hypermetabolic right paratracheal, peripancreatic and para-aortic lymph nodes
with interval development of multiple new right supraclavicular, mediastinal
and abdominal lymph nodes as described above – progressive disease.
A few nodular opacities in left lung as described above with low-grade FDG
uptake – infectious / inflammatory etiology; however, metastases cannot be
entirely excluded; recommended clinical correlation and follow up.

8th February 2018
Chemotherapy Line # 3
Started Irinotecan q15d

She was not able to tolerate the last chemotherapy, it was very painful and hard on her. The last 2 lines of chemo have failed.

I've read a couple articles on the use of  Artemisia Annua & use of vitamin c.

I'm from India. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Regards,

Irfan

Hello Ifran,

I am sorry for your diagnosis. For me Artemisia did unfortunately nothing. I took 10g/day for 6 weeks and then 2g/day as maintenance. I am a great believer in Prof. Seyfried´s work. He had proven that most cancers (not all) depends on glycolysis. With ketogenic diet, hyperbaric oxygen, DCA and a recent the cancer can be starved. I can tell you more if you are interested.

Best regards.

Ketogenic diet is besides the zero carb diet, the strictest low carb diet. You start with a three day water fast. Carbs are not only sugar, bread, pasta, rice. Also in vegetables and fruits. So it is important to measure everything you eat. Allowed are only 20g carb, 55g - 75g protein, and at least 140g fat a day. How much fat and protein you need depends on your height and weight.

The goal are certain blood levels. Blood ketones should be high for cancer treatment (3.0mmol - 6mmol). Blood sugar should be very low (<70mg/dl), for it you can use metformin. To raise your blood ketones there are also ketone esthers.

Ketones and glucose can be measured by a glucometer which can also measure ketones. That device from freestyle is in my opinion the most precise.

For this metabolic approach, it would be good if you can do hyperbaric oxygen 3 times in a week. Also take metformin 500mg/day and DCA 25mg/kg. If you don´t have the possibility for hyperbaric oxygen, you could try hydrogen peroxide to drink. But for that I don´t know the exact dosage.

There are lot success stories for aggressive cancer forms only with ketogenic diet:

Dear Ergin,

Thanks for answering. I am asking because i am about to get diagnosed with some kind of lymphoma. Thats why i am looking for testimonials about lymphoma. All i know about it that they used it to detox from radiation and heavy metals. They drink 1/2 teaspoons a day and some do detox baths.

Deat Engin,

In 1994 and no recurrence? That must be a record. I am glad he is healthy now. But i want to try a natural/healthier way if its posible of course. I realing lots of forums about lymphoma and 99% it comes back in 5 years. I also met few people who beat it naturally but every cancer is not same.

Really strange. Diagnostics play big role on treatment. My story is long and not diagnosed yet. But 99% this is lymphoma. Having problem with my oncologist. Now i see another one and he may decide for another biopsy. 6 months ago i as stage I when i was yelling to doctors that it may be cancer and now i have over 20 lynph nodes it stage III or probably IV. Maybe i dont do that biopsy and gonna push hard the natural ways. Since some doctors think that biopsy spreads the cancer and makes it hard to get treated.

I apologize. Now I see the thread was that of irfan. I've made a mistake due to the similarity of the usernames and discussions on this thread.
