About 3 years ago I wrote a post on Plerixafor  https://www.cancertreatmentsresearch.com/plerixafor-mozobil/

Recent studies published in Nature magazine suggest that Plerixafor can also inhibit metastasis of breast cancer to brain.  https://www.nature.com/articles/s41523-017-0008-8

The mechanism is related to the CXCR4 antagonist role of Plerixafor.

Hi Daniel,

Just saw this post while seeking ideas on interventions to inhibit or to resolve brain lesions from TNBC. Pls see my first post for context: https://www.cancertreatmentsresearch.com/community/breast-cancer/tm-in-metastatic-tnbc-with-recent-progression-on-capecitabine/#post-976

Have you heard anecdotally or from some post via your members or elsewhere if anyone has seen benefits with Plerixafor for the above purpose. This drug's wiki page suggests it is FDA approved for Leukemia and Multiple Myeloma. It will be very helpful to know some reliable alternative interventions that could inhibit or remove brain lesions from breast cancer. Many Thanks

Hi Kapil, I do not know anyone who used this yet. I had it in my freezer but never used the drug.

Thanks Daniel for your prompt reply. I will try to keep track of any other agent that works to remove brain metastases.

Many Thanks,

Kapil

Plerixafor is a CXCR4 inhibitor. Acetyl-11-keto-b-boswellic acid (AKBA) from Boswellia serrata does that too. https://www.dovepress.com/cxcr4-in-breast-cancer-oncogenic-role-and-therapeutic-targeting-peer-reviewed-fulltext-article-DDDT Therefore using Boswellia serrata supplements with high AKBA may help reduce the chance of mets to the brain.
